Dosage Adjustment

• Be aware that prophylactic therapy with amantadine should begin as soon as possible after exposure to persons infected with influenza A virus and should continue for 10 days. During an influenza epidemic, expect drug to be given daily throughout the epidemic, which typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks. • Amantadine may increase seizure activity in patients with a history of seizures.
