Zithromax (generic Azithromycin)
Zithromax (Azithromycin) is the drugs called macrolide antibiotics. Azithromycin fights many bacteria in different parts of the body, such as ear infections, skin infections, respiratory infections and sexually transmitted diseases.
Before taking these drugs, tell your doctor if you have had:
- an unusual or allergic reaction to azithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin), foods, dyes, or preservatives
- kidney disease
- pneumonia
- breast-feeding
- stomach problems (especially colitis)
- liver disease
- other chronic illness
Dose
Take Zithromax orally. Follow yor doctor’s instructions. You must not take Zithromax more often than your doctor prescribed. Take pills with a glass of water. You should take your doses at regular intervals. Talk to your doctor before stopping Zithromax.

- antacids
- dihydroergotamine
- astemizole
- magnesium salts

Side effects
- nausea
- skin rash, itching
- vaginal irritation, itching or discharge
- severe or watery diarrhea
- dark yellow or brown urine
- hearing loss
- headache
- irregular heartbeat, palpitations, or chest pain
- diarrhea
- difficulty breathing
- tiredness
- dizziness, drowsiness
- vomiting
- yellowing of the eyes or skin
- stomach pain or cramps
- increased sensitivity to the sun
Storage
Store Zithromax in the original container and keep out of the reach of children and animals.
